Celtic Midnight
Celtic Midnight by @aeryaval (Aeryn Avalon)

I'm not sure quite what she is, some sort of dark elf I suppose. Lately I've been doing a lot of darker art, so this picture marks the beginning of a trend I think you'll see continuing. I did it in about an hour, so it probably could have come out a lot nicer than it did...but I'm relatively happy with it. I really just wanted a chance to paint some celtic tattoos. Watercolor.

Ooh, you uploaded her! I really love this piece--the title you've chosen as well is fabulous. Erin, you've done such an amazing job with the lighting in this piece, I just wanna give you a medal or a cookie. The blue shadows and soft highlights really do give the impression of midnight!.

Nice use of color here. The red really jumps out at you. It's a little unbalanced, which draws the eye away from the focus, but it's a lovely effect regardless. I have to say that I love the title, too. The wall is nicely rendered and the whole feeling of the picture, from the lighting, the colors, and the pose, is very mystical. Lovely work.

Thank you ^^ Yeah, I kinda used the red as the accent color, and I tried to bring it up towards the focus by adding it to her lips, and I tried to dull it a little bit by adding the bluishness, etc....Shrug The only thing I dont' realy like about this is her face. I think her face is ugly. But I"m glad you like it ^^

I think, what makes the focus of the person still stay off the planned area, is because you also added a lot of bluishness to the face, which dulls the face out more than the bluishness in the dress. Either way, this is done very well, i especially like the hair, and the tatoos came out very nice as well. nice job XD

Sincerely, Ikaika
