Notes about our categories.
All categories on Side 7 are based on the content or genre of the work, not the particular style of the artist. Works that can fit in multiple categories may be put in any one of the potential categories, according to where the member feels it fits best.
A general note about fan art and derivative pieces: We define fan art as original artwork containing characters, locations, etc. created by someone else. We define derivative pieces as artwork or performances based on an original piece by another artist, but that is still within legal allowable use under copyright laws. Neither case is an excuse or defense for posting unauthorized reproductions or plagiarism of someone else's original work.
