Promise of a Rose
Promise of a Rose by @fantasy_moon (Cassie)

This is an old drawing. Ancient sketch from back in 2003. Since getting my drawing pad, I had been wanting to redo it because I had scanned a crayon-colored copy and posted in my old deviantArt gallery. I rescanned the original sketch which is on this huge piece of drawing paper. So I did a quick coloring job awhile back. Felt like uploading it since I don't add many pictures, and I do love it despite how my drawing style impoves. I wanted them to look like chibis. Not sure whether I succeeded back then or not, but it's still adorable.

Obviously you can tell I am a fan of the Kurama x Botan pairing. I just think they're so cute together! I have another picture of them in the works.

Aw, it is adorable!

I think I remember the pencil version of this pic from dA (fah, dA...)...the CGing gives it a nice solid effect, I think. And of course it's in those lovely Easter candy pastels you use...

Er, if I were to suggest anything, it'd be to add more volume to Botan's sleeves...but I can't really remember what her outfit looks like at the moment, so...pokes at Botan's sandle-toe Heehee, cute toe...

The detail of the rose is very nice, and contrasts well with the overall simplicity of the chibi-style.

It's cute, Cassie-chan ^_^

Thank you so much for commenting, Nicole-chan! ^_^ Yes, it is hard to use other colors besides my pastels. hehe I believe it adds a sweetness to whatever image I am coloring, don't you think?

I considered doing some really detailed highlights and shading when I CGed it because by that time I had gotten used to my drawing tablet and software, but I dunno... I guess I wanted it simple. ^^;; My next picture of this pairing will have all the volume you could want, I promise! hugs
