Holy Egyptian army flag
Holy Egyptian army flag by @Thorvald (El Thorvaldo)

Flag of the Egyptian Army in Taniciusfox's latest IOT horror, ATEN. Why, yes, there is a correlation between his selected motif and my choice of player state. ;)

Usually I put these up either when the game has finished or has at least gained some mileage, but it's started with a worldbuilding stage of indeterminate length, and frankly, I like these flags so much that I'm willing to post them upfront. The nation I conceived blends Nasserist patriotism with the Old Religion, with a particular emphasis on a cult centred around Anubis that, thanks to TanIOTs' flexible approach to reality, does not merely pay spiritual dividends. B-) The particulars of the history &c. have not yet been settled, and due to the nature of worldbuilding threads will probably remain in a state of flux until the start of the game proper. Once a solid timeline is laid out, I'll amend this description.

The actual Egyptian Army uses a slightly altered version of the state flag, so I had the opportunity to come up with something almost original. This follows the pattern of the Navy and Air Force, making the crossed swords the prominent feature and adding an Eye of Horus for general good luck. I'm wondering whether I should have instead placed it above the blades.

@Warehouse_Rabbit: ...dangit, I wanted to plug the "24 as Written by Cats" vid from way back in the 2007 Writers' Guild strike, but for the life of me I can't find it.
