Late Birthday/Halloween Pic
Late Birthday/Halloween Pic by @migucast (Miguel Castaneda)

Remember that naked Mia I drew for Janus last year? Well, yes, that was quite a detailed image on which I worked many long hard hours. Unfortunately... This year.. I was not able to make him anything as I was not only tied up with work but also working on someone's birthday gift from LAST YEAR... >_< I'm hoping to have it for him by his birthday, later this month, but now with our machine contaminated with Adware... I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it.. :(

Anyway... Amy was able to step up to the plate and deliver him an AWESOME picture but I still felt sort of bad that I couldn't have anything for him... But... I wrote it off and went about my business until...! While trolling the halloween stuff at work, I kept noticing all the simple black and orange depictions of witches on our merchandise and thus the idea for THIS picture was born! ^^

Now, if Janus loves anything... He loves witches. And he loves butts. ;) Hence why Mia's butt was the focus of his last present. The pose for this came quickly but I wasn't sure how to dress her... Sure, I could've left her naked, but then it might've looked too much like his last gift plus I wanted to use it as a general purpose halloween picture anyway so I couldn't do that (also, he can't connect to the internet at home right now and a naked picture might get him in trouble at his school)... I could've given her a miniskirt buuuuut... That wouldn't really have worked well with the pose and angle.. So... Imagined up a thongy thing with a scarf, boots, and a hat and we're done! ^^

I drew it in pencil first and then went over it with my old charcole things that I haven't used since that figure drawing class ages ago. I added the oranginess in Photoshop and now we have something that looks like it could go on a halloween pale or something. :p

Halloween p-a-i-l, Red. Hehe.

Thanks again, I really love it. For the obvious reasons.

I agree with BlackMountain, the pose and figure seem flawless, and I love the fact that you did it in charcoal - it's really a neat medium. I'd love to see you do more stuff like this, honestly.

I like the broom shading too, though I think the end of the bristles (the bottom) looks kind of weird. I would suggest crosshatching but I'm really not sure that would look right either. I wonder how you would properly shade the bottom of a broom. Oh well.

Again, I love it. Thanks! :D

Waaaaaaaaai, this is so beautiful! I'm amazed that you finished this so quickly! Using charcoal for this picture was a great idea--the simple orange and black is perfect for Halloween... The pose looks very awesome, the girl is purty, and the coloring is just right! I really like the broom, too, especially the bristly part! And the background is simple and effective... Well, those words could be used to describe the whole thing! ^-^ This is SUCH a great picture, sweetie! ^-^
