Jounouchi's Angel
Jounouchi's Angel by @Lady_Amberjo (Lady Amberjo)

Whee. Fanart symbolism. Shizuka is Jounouchi's inspiration, his reason to keep trying. So in a sense, she IS his angel (besides, I felt like drawing somebody with wings, and Shizuka seemed like a logical choice ^^; )

This version is different from the one on my deviantART account...the crooked border had been bothering me, so I made an effort to straighten it out. I also used a Swirl effect on the solid-colored areas, just to dress it up a bit.

Y'know, there isn't nearly enough fanart of the female YuGiOh cast...

This is a great little piece; I love the flowiness of the character in general. The coloring is lovely and I like the shading, as well as the border. The character's lack of arms throws me off a little...

Thanks for your comment! ^^; Eheh, actually, she did have arms at one point, but the way I had them drawn created more of a distraction than adding to the picture, so I just left them off. Just...pretend her arms turned into wings. Yeah! That's it...^_^

Wow!! I love this concept. Yes, Shizuka/Serenity is totally Jou/Joey's angel! ^__^ I love how you've drawn the bandages sort of drifting away from her face. And her expression really does look cherubic. =) The borders are awesome too.

Are you a "sibling cuteness" type person? That's totally me, only I usually focus on the Ishtars. ^__~

Thanks for your comment! Ah, I'm glad somebody noticed the bandage...it was a pain to draw...almost as much of a pain as the border was to straighten out X3

Sibling cuteness? Yiss! Yiss! waves her little Jou/Shizu-snuggliness banner

It's still so pretty, even if the scanner did eat a lot of that original detail. Still a lovely picture; 'specially fond of her expression, and the soft featheryness of her wings.

The new background you added is interesting too; different enough to notice, but soft enough that it doesn't distract from Shizuka, and instead complements her.

Myu, Siren, you have the dubious honor of being one of the very few people who's actually seen the original ^^;

And the background got severely distorted in the upload...you can still tell it's there, but the swirl effect was sort of killed by blur...

From what I've seen of your artwork, this one has to be one of my favorites. There's such a peaceful, serene appearance to it, like now that the bandages are coming off she can fly again. Excellent work on doing the shadings of her. It adds depth. I like the swirling background too. The green serves to bring out Shizuka.

I agree that there needs to be more artwork of the YGO girls.

I like that. ^_^

The swirl sort of got killed in the upload. ;; But I'm glad you like it. And thanks so much for leaving a comment with substance to it! ^~
