Hakkan Character Reference
A soldier of the Raevyllke in the IOT spin-off Intrigue of Magic. His exceptional physical profile made him a star candidate as a varrevsk "champion", trained to the bleeding edge of martial combat. He first appears as captain of a scouting detachment against the ghoulish infestation to the west of Blotskig County, fighting off multiple foes single-handed during the attempted ambush; his report spurs the Crown to dispatch a full army headed by Crown Prince Rasmus.
Hakkan later features as the leader/Crown minder for an adventure party contracted by Prince Herlifur to investigate the disappearance of a scouting detachment in the southern frontier. The group discovers a cell of the Cult of Totec, disciples of the mage that summoned the demon that provoked the game's cataclysmic backstory, that is using the captured soldiers as sacrifices for blood rituals; exploiting the presence of a nearby hydra, the party frees the survivors and destroys the beached ship serving as the cultists' base.
Syfrida Solvpals
Sovereign who may dispatch him on special missions as necessary for the realm.
Crown Prince Rasmus
Marshal of the Army who organizes the initial scouting into the northwest frontier, and subsequently leads a full expedition based on Hakkan's report.
Prince Herlifur
De jure count of Ostugland who selects Hakkan to lead the adventure party into the south, as a substitute for a full military expedition that could be seen as provocation against the Raevyllke's regional neighbour Nuifallash.
The adventure party
Mildburh, Daughter of Cyneburga
Red-haired human, serving as the "white mage". The most down-to-earth of the group, setting aside Hakkan's military professionalism.
Gudran of the North
Orc veteran specializing in both close-quarters combat and archery. Proud and boastful, but proves a skilled fighter.
Tarzic
Tlaloc (reptilian) mage, serving as offensive caster. The quiet observant type. Recognizes the Cult.
Sweipflutz
Young garuda (avian), serving as forward scout. Embodies the archetypal brash young adventurer out to prove himself. Call him Sweip.
