Military officers overseeing the occupation of Canada on behalf of the Eastern Union following the country's invasion during the Avatar Wars in DYOS X. The reluctant inheritors of what was essentially a distraction campaign by Thorvald of Lym to get Union troops out of the fire zone and force kulade to commit Combine forces in defence of his Russian headquarters instead, they have (mostly) avoided interference with domestic affairs beyond Captain2's short-lived resistance movement between DYOS X–XI. The junta is a spiritual analogue to elements of the pre-DYOS comic, but mainly acts as a means of riffing on Canadian politics "in character".

• The junta's head officer is known as "The Marshal". Despite being shown with marshal insignia, as per the goof with Maxim Brusilov I have not actually determined whether he formally holds the rank.
• The junta comprises several recurring faces, of which only a Russian lieutenant-colonel, Efrosinia, has been canonically named. I had debated adopting the surname "Pretskova" based on an old Sims 2 character; this name is made up and while similar to the Bulgarian Petkova, has no derivative meaning in Russian.
