Hey. Anyone wanna help me buy a new pair of steel toe? 

I'm a general laborer and work two different blue collar jobs. I kinda need a good pair of work boots for my day to day life. I caught and ripped open the side of my boot at work the other day .... I did look up the cost on a new pair of the same boots I have now, and the price went up. They're now $235. I'm not impressed with the price tag. Last time I bought them, they were $175 🙄

I wouldn't classify this as an 'emergency', it came at a really inconvenient time as I just paid off quite a few large bills within the last couple weeks and don't have the means to replace my boots. I can get by for a little bit as I wait to save up some spare cash, but I would really like to replace my boots sooner rather than later if anyone would like to commission me!

I'm quite literally open to anything requested, the only thing - Armor, mechs, and robotics are not my strong suit. I'll try my hardest, but it's out of my zone of things I normally do.

You'd think bona fide safety gear is supplied by the job site, but knowing the US I can just picture them using the fact you're double-employed to deflect responsibility. HAV - John Macarthur 95% of my dAudience is nonresponsive, but if you like I can plug this over there.

@Thorvald: Honestly you'd think one of them would provide a stipen for work equipment. Especially since I'm a government employee (USDA/NRCS) for the one. But I'm only a grunt out in the field, nothing 'important' with no fancy title, haha. 

Funny enough, it's not even the gov job that pays my health insurance either (they actually don't give me any benefits minus paid milage if I use my personal vehicle to go out to a job site.) My other job working in a truck yard is the one I get my benefits and paid vacation from😂 

Way to go US government. Really showing the people you care, haha. If erosion control and conservation work wasn't fun to me, I probably wouldn't be working for them. 

I'm just most mad at the fact the price of my boots went up so much. I was NOT expecting that when I went to go look up a new pair. Granted they'll last a year or so in my field of work. But damn. Over 200$ now..

@Thorvald: Yup. I'm ready to just drop off the face of the earth and go hide in the woods to live off the land. I am so done with paying these insane prices for EVERYTHING. Granted, I live in a remote area, so that doesn't help anything whenever I do make it to the grocery store since the prices are already hiked up due to shipping costs to get here. (Like I just paid $7 for a half pint of heavy whipping cream.) The prices have always been a little more here, but on top of the insane general prices - uff - it's been rough just trying live within means.
