Mategai means 'clams.' Cause he likes clams. It's his favorite food...:P
Anyhow, he's a half-dragon, though half water dragon, thus his kind of aquatic-ness, wi' th' fins and stuff. He doesn't have wings but he has a pair of retractable dorsal fins, kind of like a flying fish, so he can really cut through the water (or possibly pull off a long glide-ey jump with them).
Yeah, he's a thief, mostly due to the fact he's facinated by shiney objects, wether that be fish hooks, a sparkly rock, or your hard earned cash. A lot wonder how he manages to pick pockets when his hands are stubby and webbed like that...the answer is...he picks pockets with his tail. :P
