Here is a watercolor I've been working at for a while of a Chestnut-sided Warbler. I was quite proud of it.

Then I scanned it. And the background looks horrible and the bird's colors aren't a good as they are on paper.

Still fiddling with Photoshop to try to get things to look right but here it is thus far.

Wow, that is wonderful. You did a great job on it. My only suggestion is to make the background somewhat fuller then it is, but not overly so.

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! Yeah, the scan washed out the background a good bit. But you're right, now that I'm looking at it, it does need /something/ more, maybe more trees. oh well, that's part of learning, something to remember for the next one. Thanks for the advice :)
