Sawyer. I am dismal at drawing arms.
I did this in Painter Classic. I was trying to duplicate this style where you drop copic ink onto a page (I read about it in a book) and I had a bad go of it. I did the sleeve last, and as you can tell, I was getting the hang of it at about that point so maybe I'll try it again at some point, and get it right.
See. Big coat. Big, huge, coat. He got it from a guy who was nine inches taller than he is.
I like the brown-ness of this image, it gives it a rugged, masculine feel. The character design is very cool, and I like the large eyes. They give the character an air of innocence, as does the too-large jacket. It's very cute. The lineart is very interesting--it looks like watercolors painted on there. I have no skill whatsoever in Painter, so I am impressed with what you have here!
The only issue with the arm is that it is just a little bit too arm. Although it might look strange at first, it shouldn't stick out quite that far unless it is purposefully being held away from the body, I think. Also, the curve is a little too sharp for being that far away. Uhm. Hopefully what I just said was helpful and made sense. Anyways, you can draw hands much better than I can, so I am impressed. :) I do like this style, it's interesting--being a Copic FANATIC, please let me know where you read about this ink technique? I haven't heard of it and Copics are my main medium. :) Well, that's putting it mildly--I am obsessed with Copics. I worship them as the tools of the Goddess they are. I'll go away and be quiet now. :)
