Running from the Wind
Running from the Wind by @trust_in_angels (Christine Fitzgerald)

Adonia again. She's been running from her past for the past few months. Always nervous, always watching.... waiting for the next assassin to strike. But in her own words:

I may be running But I won't go down without a fight

I've never drawn a cloak before, so I had no idea how it flowed. I put a scarf around my neck and turned my head like hers to figure out how the folds went. I had a bit of trouble coloring it too. It turned out interesting. I didn't intend for it to be so red, but it works. There's no telling how much blood she's gotten on it, so maybe it just blends in.

The rest is okay. Her skin isn't as dark as it was before, but when I noticed I couldn't fix it right. Meh. You can still tell it's her.... I think.

I think I did rather well. But I can guarantee that I won't feel that way about it in awhile, the more I look at it. Don't know why my mind works that way.

Don't worry, it works that way for all of us. Or at least me and all the artists I know. I like your style, and the pose and expression really convey the feeling you mentioned in your description. A non-abstract background would help that, though, and some heavier shading on her face and hair would help bring the picture to life, but it still looks very nice as is.

Thanks for the constructive critisism. I noticed that the shading wasn't the bold this morning when I looked at it. While I draw it looks darker to me until my eyes make them blend better. I'm trying to get better at hair altogether, because I've never been good at coloring it.

The only kind of backgrounds I do are abstract, because they're easy to make on the computer.

I make work a little bit more on this. Thanks for the comment.
