Torcia Redraw by @fragmented_imagination (B Sanders)
A redraw of my previous Torcia pictures. A couple days ago, a friend of mine commented how stiff my characters looked, and I'll admit that most of the time, my characters just don't appear that active or relaxed. Or, sometimes, just plain... well, plain. So I decided to experiment a bit with a redraw.
Her main change was her hair, a brighter color and some actual motion to it. I also changed her eye color because I figured I was beating people to death with the whole red thing. I've found that they are actually quite pretty this way. And one thing I notice that I was doing was I always had that odd hand which hung from the character's side. I kind of cheated and drew it out of the picture.
Another change, obviously enough, was the folds in her shirt to give it more of a thin fabric feel like it should be. The same happened to the sleeves of her jacket, but the body of the jacket remained almost the same because the material is supposed to be thick.
Again, I was so tired after doing the character that I neglected a decent background. The circles in the corners were an attempt to provide a little more design to the image around her, otherwise it'd be boring as hell.
Nicely done!
I really love the way you you colored her hair, and I love the overall warmness of rending applied to this piece.
