Transparent Self by @Shanarah (Courtney Leibig)

This is my transparent self project for one of my art classes. I made an base drawing on the canvas then painted it w/ numerous layers of ultra-thin acrylics. It was an interesting new experience.

I chose Shanarah to represent me for this 'self portrait', as she is a part of myself and always will be. Along with her are some the most important things in my life. The Sacred Heart is the light in my life & the light source of the picture. The night-gaunt is my love of H.P. Lovecraft and horror stories. The Evenstar (which was collaged in) is my favorite piece of jewelry as well as a sign of my LotR fandom and love for fantasy. Raziel is there because I love him, the LoK series and video games. It sums me up pretty well although I should've thought of some way to squeeze PSU football in there.
