Hang on Tight
Hang on Tight by @ajfox (A Girtz)

Digging into the vintage art bin again to buy some time while creating some new pieces. Life keeps throwing things at me and it's been tough getting back to art. Kohna dangles precariously from a cargo bay, as she's saved by her friend and mentor, Torran. Original battle suit designs used here though these have since changed, but neat to at least have them archived. Both are my current OCs.

HANG ON! I GOTCHA!

This conveyed a lot of emotions running wild all over the page from the intensity of the situation to the harrowing brush with death lingering in the air, the use of perspective and simplicity of the colors, its fantastic to see traditional work again.  I noticed you do a LOT of it consider yourself watched.

@XxTheCreativeKitsunexX: Hey CK! Thank you very much, I really appreciate it.

This was a fun one to do and I am planning to make a return to (hopefully) more effective pieces.  I'd like to dabble in the digital realm sometime, but for now, there's just something about the connection/feel of pencil, pen and marker to paper that seems (for lack of a better word) authentic to me.

The digital medium is incredible with far more possibilities and depth, but somehow I just can't seem to get there yet.  Long live old school!

@ajfox: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6xa8DOB38A There is something rather catharic about making a mechanical or lead pencil move and something taking shape right before your eyes for it to feel real and like your actually accomplishing something from using such a primative tool not attached to a digital apparatus of any sort.  Heh so instead of saying touch grass to a digital artist we ought to say touch paper should we not?

@XxTheCreativeKitsunexX: 100%!  And very well said.  The smell of the markers, the focus on inking lines, the lead scraping the paper.  It's tangible and I would even go so far as to say; therapeutic.

@ajfox: For me the struggle was real with getting graphite smudges all over my damn art when I drew.   I have not picked up a mechanical pencil and paper for years now focusing all my energy into music and writing,  my game Galaxy Savior also getting attention as I struggle to comprehend how a video game is made from scratch ha ha ha ha.
