Cold Press is a type of watercolor paper. I use Arches 300 Lb. or Kilimanjaro which is a very thick weight, that does not have to be water sized before painting. Cold Press has a rougher surface texture than Hot Press which is smoother paper. For me when I paint it is all about the paper. I love the heaviest paper possible when doing watercolors. With the right paper, you can't go wrong, IMHO...smiles!
