Houshi Buri characters
Houshi Buri characters by @SleepyShippo (Sleepy Shippo)

These are the characters to a comic I want to draw someday. It's about a fox who becomes a houshi (low rank, traveling Buddhist monk) and shocks the world by doing so. Along the way, he meets two tanuki siblings (there is a separate pic in my gallery of just the tanuki sibs), a wolf, two kappa.

Characters:

Fox: Buri Older male tanuki: Koburi Younger female tanuki: Kita Wolf: Santaro Male kappa: Mizutsuke Female kappa: Kyuuri

What's going on:

Kita plays with her sando-gasa as her older brother looks on. Santaro, always the upstart, points an accusing finger at Buri. (Yes, I know it looks like he's pointing to Kita, sorry) Mizutsuke is trying to escape the relentless, smitten Kyuuri.

Hope somebody likes this!

Nice showcase of the cast ^_^ And I like how the main character is bigger, taking the forefront, while the secondary cast members surround him... I really love kappa, too ^-^ You rarely see those cute little creatures in anthro art.

I like the concepts presented here, overall... I'd be interested to see some stories created in Medieval Japan.
