Holy --- that's one heck of a good picture..... Incredibly realistic, the detail's all there, and the texture of the wooden fence is well rendered....
Only one thing though: The bow of the violin seems to be missing a matching shadow? :p

ALRIGHT!! Forget the last picture! I spent some time and fixed some problems with the aliasing and lighting, and added a decent background. NOW it's finished.

Astounding. Definitely an improvement over the last version. Although I liked the shine on the violin in the previous picture, making the wood look polished, the antialiasing and lighting here does make it look much more realistic, and the wood and background are superbly rendered, I dare to say perfect. The sheer artistic look of the composition as well is a real pleasure to look at. This is beautiful in so many ways, and rendered so well that if I didn't know better, I would have thought it was a photograph. Fantastic work.

Well, it looks pretty great. But there's something missing: tuning pegs. It's not perfect (bow hair), but very, very good and I like it much better than the last one. The violin looks beautifully finished, although without being too shiny. And the background is great.
You come up with amazing stuff! The amount of texture and detail is incredible.
