Can no longer paint to save your life? I think you did pretty darn well in this instance... consider yourself saved... :) I like how it appears to be swimming in the night sky.... the glowing eyes especially resemble stars....

Thank you! :) I haven't painted anything in months. I love painting glowy lights, and I'm glad you like the eyes!

Not quite koi coloring, but I agree with boredslacker, lovely regardless. The glowing eyes really jump off the page at you yet fit in so well with the stars around it. I also love the curves and movement of the fish, which is well shaded as well. Very pretty.

Depends what sort of koi! :) I've seen some that were golden-yellow all over, and very pretty. Still, the shape's not quite koi - no whiskers! I really wanted to make the fish graceful and flowing, so thank you for letting me know it worked. Thanks for the comment! :)

Hee! Koi are related to carp. I made the eyes blue so they'd pop out at you. Thank you for commenting! :)
