RetroGrandSymphony- Legends of Stanza- Return To The Land by @XxTheCreativeKitsunexX (XxTheCreativeKitsunexX)

Back in 2011 I was inspired by a video game soundtrack to the game 3D dot game heroes for the PS3. The main theme from the OST struck me as one of the coolest pieces of video game music melding 8bit sounds to a midi orchestra. It was then I thought to myself if I could do the same and set out to create what is now one of my most well known series to date.

I created a 4 tracks using 8 bit and pure orchestral instruments not only going for a more lush sound but also something that any gamer would gladly put down their controller and listen to. Since that day the new music style I created would be synonymous with my other series of music and would also evolve with time.

Dubbed RetroGrandSymphony

I create music using video game sounds from the 8bit consoles and PCs of the age along with top quality orchestral instruments such as strings, percussion, woodwinds, brass and even modern day drum beats and guitar riffs to create the music.

This is the VERY FIRST track to RetroGrandSymphony that started it all, you can tell cause its definitely rough around the edges. Still this is a classic piece responsible for many of my more modern video game series tracks.

It's actually incredible how just adding an echo gives a MIDI that much more depth.

@Thorvald: Indeed it does and hence why I proceeded in doing so.

Hi there! I like all your RetroGrandSymphony pieces, and was wondering if there was more information about it anywhere? Or is it just a few concept music pieces? I just find it enthralling and would like to know more! Best wishes, -CK

@chimerakitty: There used to be a lot more tracks for the series at one time, the hard drive they were on though died and I stupidly didn't do any back ups. So what was uploaded is all I have there are others in the works but right now I am currently working on a larger music project which may be uploaded to Side 7 at some point. Right now though yeah this is all there is for now.

@XxTheCreativeKitsunexX: Oh dang, that’s rough. :( Well, at least you have the opportunity to make them better! But I feel your pain, losing progress is never fun.

@chimerakitty: Some of the tracks uploaded here will not be improved or upgraded and are a piece of history for the series they are part of. BUT I also have some tracks in the works from the series I WANTED to modernize such as this one which is getting a complete make over. I was lucky to have uploaded and archived a few other tracks of this series on other sites and have been able to recover a good portion of older works from the series so because of the attention the series is getting...its more then likely those tracks will be uploaded to Side 7.

@XxTheCreativeKitsunexX: Whew! At least not all is lost, archiving things always feels like such a hassle, but you always end up glad you did when something does happen to inevitably go wrong. Can't wait to hear more of your pieces, though, old or new. uwu
