Otherwise titled: Gratuitous Use of Plastic Wrap. Warning, rather huge file ahead.Another Tehanu picture, with the water soluables, tablet and photoshop 5.5. It's meant to be a bit of concept art showing her birth, as a dragon in a woman's body. It looks a little too much like a lost soul in Hell to me, or a recently fallen Angel. But I quite like the composition - and her back. I love her back.

This image seems, to me, to completely capture the concept of a dragon being born in a woman's body--that would be a completely hellish experience, I would think--having all the magnificent power of a dragon, and then suddenly being confined in the relative frailty of a woman. I think this is conveyed in her slightly awkward pose--it's not beyond the way a human can bend, but it's not a comfortable pose to be in, which is what something suddenly confined to a human body would probably get into, since they wouldn't be used to how humans move. I think that you captured that extremely well.
The background is so beautiful, all fire and light. So did you use saran wrap for this--is that what you were getting at? If so, how? It looks absolutely amazing! I love how the colors match her hair as well. And her back is quite lovely. The female back is so often ignored, but it's so beautiful to look at! So I'm glad to see it in this image! Thank you!

Thank you so much for commenting. I've always felt a little unsure about this picture--loving all the individual components while feeling apprehensive about the whole. You've just given me the self-esteem boost of a lifetime.
You have also read into my work astoundingly well, interpreting it exactly how I imagined it in the first place. Im amazed, and slightly awed.
