Thanks! I'm glad you enjoy and appreciate my ever-continuing forays into new styles and methods of making art. I have so much fun with it.
As for the Chinese characters, the one on the right should say 'rooster', but I'm not so sure about the four on the left. I copied them off a coin that came in a 'lucky red envelope', which was from last year's Chinese new year. Supposedly, the coin symbolizes luck, health, and wealth in the new year, though as for what it literally says, your guess is as good as mine.
(P.S. - if anyone out there can tell me what they say, please do let me know.)
Jinx, this image ROCKS! I am really amazed that you can draw a difficult animal like this so well, and the colors and style are absolutely fabulous. That's something I love so much about your art--it's always different. You aren't stuck in any particular style, you feel free to try different things, like 'vector'ish art, like this one. And that is awesome.
My favorite part of this image is the Rooster's face. It's really well-drawn. Also, the smooth lines just rock! I am very impressed with how neatly you drew the Chinese characters... the question is, what do they say?
Keep up the great art, Jinx. You rock!
