Melancholy Earth Faery
Melancholy Earth Faery by @Claidis (Lauren Rankin)

This was a rather painless image, and I had fun doing it. Referenceless and done in one night; I'm pleased with how it came out. I used thinner paper than normal though, so the markers bled a little...I hid that with thick outlines. (Prismacolor pencils & markers.)

Nice coloring. Very vivid. Really stood out as a thumbnail. Good job.

Cute faerie. The cool color scheme is very pleasing to the eye, and I really like the style of it, the shading particularly. Also, I like the way the folds in the skirt go in different directions on either side of her arm. It gives an interesting impression about the shape of the skirt. Her legs look a little short, though. It seems to be a perspective issue, so I think that's a matter of reshaping the knees to make them appear to face the viewer more directly, but for no reference, it's very nicely drawn. I'm awed that you did this in one day. Simply lovely.

Thank you! Yes, I do like how the folds came out in the dress, myself. However, as for her knees: women come in all shapes and sizes, and I'm rather short-legged myself, so my drawings sometimes reflect that; so leg length is relative. You're right about the perspective though, I agree with that. However, it's a bit late to be thinking about any changes to it as I've already inked and colored it.
