This vaguely calls to mind Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde which, despite owning, and having read Fforde's Thursday Next and Nursery Crime series, I still haven't cracked. D:

I'm also reminded of a friend's character who literally eats colour; sadly once dA went full AI they shuttered their accounts and I haven't been in touch since. ;_;

@Thorvald: I’ve seen artists I liked either disappear to instagram or delete their da accounts and never come back, so I know how it is. Anyways, thank you Thorvald.

@N0-11: I think my most devastating loss was a fellow named Creators-Creations: she drew vibrant cartoons that never failed to lift me up, she ran a YouTube channel that was half film reviews and half comedy shorts, and she was a great conversationalist. Years before dA's current idiocy, she just up and wiped her online presence one day and while I'd never claim we were close, I've been feeling the hole ever since. I'd had tribute art in mind, but suffice to say I didn't get around to it before she went dark.

Happy to be of service. o/
