Meanwhile, Splash Woman seduces Dr. Light and persuades him to kill Blasto Woman. When Blasto returns home, she belittles Light, who snaps and pushes her down the stairs, breaking her neck. However, she inexplicably survives and Light takes Blasto to the hospital where the doctor's analysis shows that she is clinically dead. Light considers her reanimation to be a miracle and uses his skills to repair her body at home. Splash arrives and after overhearing her and Light discussing their murder plot, Blasto shoots Splash with a shotgun. The blast leaves a large hole in Splash’s torso but she remains alive, revealing that she also has taken Hypno Woman’s potion. Splash and Blasto fight before apologizing and reconciling. Depressed at the situation, Light prepares to leave, but Splash and Blasto persuade him to repair their bodies first. Realizing they will need regular maintenance, they scheme to have Light drink the serum to ensure his permanent availability.
The pair knocks out Light and then they bring him to Hypno Woman, who offers him the potion in exchange for his repairing skills. Although tempted, Light rejects immortality as he’s concerned about outliving anyone he cares about—forcing him to spend eternity with Blasto and Splash—and the physical consequences Blasto and Splash have already suffered. He flees with the serum but becomes trapped on the roof. Splash and Blasto implore Light to drink the serum to survive an impending fall but after realizing they only want him for selfish reasons he throws the serum away. Light survives the fall after landing in Hypno’s pool and escapes, leaving the pair in despair at the realization that they will have to depend on each other for companionship and maintenance, forever.
Thirty-seven years later, Blasto and Splash attend Light’s funeral, where he is eulogized as having achieved true immortality by living a fulfilling life and building many pieces of revolutionary technology. Now grotesque parodies of their former selves, with cracked, peeling paint and putty covering most of their grey and decrepit bodies, Splash and Blasto mock the eulogy and leave. Outside, Splash trips and falls down a flight of steps, dragging Blasto with her. Their bodies break apart and Splash sardonically asks Blasto if she remembers where they parked their car.
