This pic isn't bad, except you might want to take a look at some reference pictures of guns to see what they look like. Right now, it looks like your character is holding a long cardboard box. I don't think that'll scare the thugs away! ^_^
As for body propotions, if this character is supposed to a grown man, then you might want to make him taller. Right now, he looks like he's only 13 years old. For clothes, you might want to make the pants longer as to cover his ankles. I don't think a gangster wearing floods will be taken seriously.
The face is fine. I don't see anything too wrong with it. Not my style of drawing human faces, but it's good none the less.
