Well dang, now I'm suddenly feeling compelled to dust off all of my Redwall books and binge read them. Awesome ratty! The shading is perfection.

@BadKarma: Thanks! I must credit artist Travis Bolek (I don't know if he has an online gallery anywhere) for both the inspiration for the piece and for my getting more into the details than I usually do.

Inspires me to read more Redwall books and draw something similar! The high contrast shading is mesmerizing to look at, and I love the anatomy.

That INK WORK!  NICE!  this gives off that old school vibe I so loved about 1980s art in books and in comics from that era.  Its rare to actually see ink work and when it appears its always invigorating to see tradional media has not gone the way of the dinosaur.
