Visions of Ishtar
Visions of Ishtar by @fantasy_moon (Cassie)

I was feeling really depressed one weekend over the summer and so with my trusty pencil I set out to draw Yami no Malik. Then Isis was added followed by Malik. Spent about 5 hours drawing this, which must be the longest I've ever spent on a picture only doing the lineart. This picture really helped me because it restored my confidence as an artist.

D= You should never lose confidence in your art!! You are very talented from what I've seen and never stop drawing! And remember that even if you aren't satisfied with your art now, which you should be since you're so good^_^, if you keep practicing you'll get much better. The guy in front is Merik? Anyways, his cape looks really awesome and the way you shaded it looks great!

Myu, look, I can comment to you here without my computer crashing!

Something about depression...it seems to fuel creativity, it does...so at least one good thing comes of it. Hm...something about drawing dark entities...of course, you don't find many people drawing happy pink bunnies when they're sad...unless a dark entity is eating said happy pink bunny...

I'm forced to make my general comment about arms in regards to Isis...elbow should reach the hip, fingers should just barely brush the knees. That said, there's very nice attention paid to detail in regards to her outfit. And the folds on Yami no Malik's cape give it a lot of depth.

...but where's Rishid? XD

Thank you for giving me advice on improvement. It's like a breath of fresh air. Something seemed a little off about her arms to me, but I thought I might have had her shoulder slumped too low.

I was going to give up drawing so I suppose in a weird way that the depression was one of the best things to happen to me. Creativity from the depths of despair, weee!

Woah, fingers just barely brush the knees?!? Are we talking about humans here? Stand up and hold your hands to your side...are they that long? No...^^ I don't see anything wrong with the length of her arms! The one off thing is where her cape covers her shoulder. The armpit is really far down from where it should be. Definitely don't make your arms that long or your art will look silly.=P Anyways, I hope that helps you out some! If not let me know and I'll try to explain it better.^^ Great pic, btw.

Well, that's what they tell you to use as landmarks in anatomy classes....elbow at the hip, fingers barely brushing the tops of the knees.

Wow. You are so skilled, especially with drawing folds in the clothes. It makes them so real.

For expressions, I love both Yami Marik's (though I really can't stand him, I like a well-drawn picture of him looking psycho) and Ishizu's. Marik's, I think, could use a bit of work. You do need to work some on arms, but I'd say more with the muscle tones and such rather than the length.

And I must echo Lady AmberJo: Where's Rishid? XD

Many thanks for the comment! ^_^

Yes, Malik's existance was a somewhat rushed last-minute thing, but it didn't look good just having the blank space so there he is. ^^;; I lost the steam to draw when I finally got to him.

About Rashid... um... I kind of forgot... ^^;; Next time I'll try to find a way to put him in.
