The gun was just a test for certain possible situations I'm still exploring:
He uses it as a form of manipulation, especially when it comes to the girl pictured in the bottom drawing (who happens to be his romantic interest through the story and the actual main character) as he threatens to shoot himself if she doesn't do as he says as the girl happens to be a very sympathetic person and she has tried to stay away from him, but is to afraid of the idea of being the main cause of him harming himself.
He also uses it to deal with people who get hostile to him as he carries the loaded gun with him at all times and he doesn't hesitate to use it.
Does seem to be a realistic mindset for someone with that kind of instability. Where does the gun come in?
