Factory of Madness: Hangman's Scaffold
Factory of Madness: Hangman's Scaffold by @rollee (Rollee Bitterblossom)

Ghost stories have always surrounded the ruins of Piedmont Factory, most of which are simply baseless. While it is true there have been many disappearances and deaths associated with the place, the grand majority of these can be explained by the fact that the condemned ruin is simply a hazardous place. Combined with the fact that Piedmont has drawn the interest of countless amateur explorers and thrill seekers who usually trespass at the dead of night, then accidents are just bound to happen. However there is one known series of tragedies that has been well documented throughout the decades. Piedmont Factory has been a strangely and unfortunately popular site for suicides.

These cases are all hangings and the bodies are mostly found in the same place, the vast easy to reach workshop towards the back entrance. With plenty of impressive high riggings and scaffolding from which to tie a noose, it's clear the choice of location was to make for a spectacular sight. This has become such an issue that the Lecton police department has started periodically sending officers to the “Hangman’s Scaffold” just to check. Most of the time it is thankfully empty but every few months, it is found with a collection of corpses strung up in the riggings.

There is also an eerily recurring oddity with these cases. Oftentimes there is a discrepancy in the report regarding officer’s body count and the number of actual bodies collected. Usually one more body is counted than there actually are. Creepier still, this missing body is consistently reported as a young blonde girl in blue. The officers who have seen her all claim she had “eerie bright blue eyes that seem to be watching you.”

Yikes! I'd hate to be the cop that winds up finding bodies here.
