Thanks for the tips on Paint Shop Pro's little tricks. ^^ I'll have to fool around with that.
XD; Yeah, at least one of his hands should be visible, I imagine. The intention was for Miruko to be gripping at one of them, but that doesn't account for the other one.
Ah, sky backgrounds...I can't help but pause to shamelessly pimp one of my favorite PSP functions: the gradient option. When you airbrush something (or even flood-fill, not sure what you used here, but I'm guessing the Magic Wand was involved), the panel of foreground color you're using comes with a lovely little set of coloring options (you may have to right-click on the color bar to get to them). The paintbrush icon creates solid color, but the stripes creates a gradient, giving you a lovely blend of colors...it comes with a nice set of pre-made ones, but you can make your own to fit whatever purpose easily enough. I only mention it because it's absolutely wonderful for sky backgrounds...hm, come to think of it, there's a few star image brushes in PSP, as well...
Now, as for the image itself...the sky is done in lovely shades of purple, and the star-speckles are nice...some of the white edging is a little distracting, though, where the sky color didn't quite reach... The positioning is very nice, but...maybe the edges of Amelda's hands should be seen? They seem to disappear completely under Miruko's arms...like he's got a black hole under there...which would make for an entirely different sort of fanfiction XD; Amelda and Miruko both have adorable facial expressions. ^^
