Moonlit Velvet
Moonlit Velvet by @morna (Jessica Evans)

This is velvet, journeying his way through the mists, in search of his love, Scarlet, a beautiful white unicorn adorned with a flaming red mane. They became separated, one day, while in their forest. Scarlet was captured by the witch queen Aldara, for Aldara wanted the power of her fire horn. She put a spell upon her that enveloped her in an aura of light, that never allowed her to sleep, for she wanted her to suffer, "All beautiful things must one day pay their price". She cut off her horn, out of jealousy and the hunger for more power, and let her go to walk the earth in shame. To look upon her love just once, knowing that she'll never have her beauty and her spirit back, and afraid that he would never love her the same as before,would cause her heart to break into, and she would perish of a broken heart. In sheer desperation and lonliness, Velvet sets out to find his love. Aldara, furious that velvet has trespassed through her woods, and for the hope and undying love for his mate that she's sees within him, she captures him and places a spell upon him that only allows him to travel by night,and never see the light of day again without turning to stone. Once was a brilliant white, he will forever remain black. So he wonders the forests looking always for Scarlet, whom he will never be able to look upon again, and Scarlet walks the same woods, forlorn and hopeless without her magic and her mate...only can the spells be broken when both lovers sacrafice themselves for one last chance to see one another

Wow, thats beautiful, both the story and the picture. ;.;

Love the way this was done, the water looks beautfiful, and the night scene is wonderful. The unicorn was well done, dark enough but not just a blob of black. Love it.

Great camera angle, nice composition, and nice textures... I am kinda angsty, though, about the horn color; it clashes with everything in the picture. I think making it the same color as the moon might've made for a smarter choice, as it'd still stand out, but not clash with the rest of the image.

Or even making the horn more purpleblue (like the stuff in the distance) might've helped, too.

ANyway, I commend you at trying so many difficult things in this pieces. Keep up the goodness!
