thanks for the commenting and the words of wisdom for the skin tone, I love the renaissance so I tottally get what your saying..
and for her eyes... I actually did go back and fix them a while back.. I just never took a photo of it. hehe glad someone else noticed that was wrong too! Before I fixed them I told everyone over here that it was too white and they just looked at me blankly...
I'll go look at your site, I got to go for now. Thanks for commenting, loved the feedback.
Your skintones look pretty well from here--I'd maybe (in the future, you understand) pump up the redness in the cheeks, and go ahead and throw in purple shadows -- think of the Renaissance and Romance masters! Their skintones, when isolated, are rather orangey, but they pull them so well that it just looks like the skin glows.
My second advice would be, in the future, not to leave the eyes as white as you have them here; in reality, since eyes reflect the colors around them, eyewhites are actually a very very light skin tone in color--and you can even make them slightly blue-ish. But I'd leave purewhite for the highlights. Otherwise, the eyes jump out too much and don't look natural.
Keep up the nice work! It's neat that you can do family portraits like that!
