Dreamtracks HalloweenEdition-Diablo-Road To Tristram by @XxTheCreativeKitsunexX (XxTheCreativeKitsunexX)

Happy Halloweird Everyone!

Yes it's that time again when everything creepy, scary, tasty rears its head and the one time a year where dressing up as something other then your regular clothes is normal.

As I always try to do every year I try to offer a spooktacular track to commemorate this day in my own special way and this year I decided to do something I have ALWAYS wanted to do. I am a fan of the video game Diablo *not as much part 4* and since I have NOT done a track paying homage to that game series yet, I thought it was high time this kitsune took a trip to Tristram.

I made absolutely sure to keep in line with the source material with this track and even added a nice little addition to the end for those who loved the special easter egg in Diablo 1, but because most would be unaware of this secret I decided to make it easier for audience members who DO NOT know of the special Easter Egg from Diablo 1 to at least know what is going on.
At the very end of the track someone has something they want to say that is all I will say on that.

Now to take a dive into the dark world of Diablo on a road to the Evil Cursed town of Tristram, along the way we will cross the fields and into a dank cave and I hope you have your brown pants on cause it's not a trip for the easily frightened as the audience will make their way into enemy territory where there are things waiting in the darkness. Then after making your way out of the cave you find yourself on the road once again and into Tristram where someone has been waiting for you to arrive...

I hope for your sake your ready.

Consider me properly sp00ped.

I spectated Diablo once or twice but I haven't played it myself so I can't speak to the OST, but even standalone this is one hell (*cough*) of a horror medley. I don't know if it's improved instrumentation or the reverb smoothing over the different sections, but this legit sounds like something played by a live orchestra. No wonder you were excited for this one: the hype is real.

@Thorvald: Spooped that's a new one I have never heard of before, still I am super glad you enjoyed the track and yes I threw everything at this track to make it at atmospheric as heck to make it stand out against anything you might here this Halloween.  I played a LOT of Diablo 2 Ressurected to make sure I got the music just right before I flew into full production mode.  The guitar sounds were the trickiest but with a little playing around I was able to nail that etherial nightmarish sound that Diablo was so well known for, the percussion instruments and woodwinds were also addede and I emphasized the low strings to great effect but so they were not drowning out the rest of the track I kept the low frequency on high setting so that the strings became more background then foreground.

The idea was to create what I lovingly call a OCPS something I become infamous for back when I was making them with Dark Kitsunes, OCPS means Original Cinematic Picture Score where I create a track and blend in sound effects to create a movie like experience taking my audience into another world that feels alive and the music just ads to the overal ambience.  The final result is a movie without pictures only using sounds and music to guide the listener allowing them to come up with stories in their own heads, I am just a guide nothing more letting everyone's imagination run wild.

Nicely done, boss! Definitely a voyage of creepyness into a dark, foresaken place.  A superb track for Halloween to be sure.

Cheers!

@ajfox: Like you I fret over every detail and do my uptmost best to offer ONLY my best to my audience so I don't sound to samey or just rehashing the same style of music over and over which leads to my WORST fear...the dreaded REPETITION AHHHHHH!

All joking aside I thought this was most fitting for Halloween and decided to go guns blazing into this with everything I could throw at the wall and even the kitchen sink, but it's not going to be my final track like this as I plan many more in the near future.

@XxTheCreativeKitsunexX: Now there's a Steamed Hams spoof I'm amazed hasn't been done.

Aside: Every time I see Moranis in glasses I immediately think of his Woody Allen impersonation. XD

Hey, great job on this track. It definitely carries with it the aesthetic of Diablo. I can imagine it being used and playing the game to that track. Excellent choice for Halloween.

@BadKarma: I am always as faithful to the original source material and feel of the original music as I can without stepping on any toes and still being able to maintain that "Kitsune original" sound I make sure my tracks become synonomous with that stand out amongst any other contemporaries that may exist.
