Traditional Japanese Tanuki by @SleepyShippo (Sleepy Shippo)
This is a traditional Japanese tanuki (raccoon-dog) as you see them throughout Japan in statue form. He wears sando-gasa (sedge hat) around his neck, a hisago (gourd bottle) in one hand, and an inrou (merchant book) in the other. At first glance, most people notice the tanuki's big..... cough...um,... just look what's dragging on the ground; that's the reason for the image's rating. Please don't be offended by this!
Note: the Japanese are more tolerant of low humor than Westerners, which partially explains why they are frequently on display in shop windows and homes. tanuki also work like the maneki neko (beckoning cat) to attract visitors/customers into the home/shop.

Actually, a Tanuki's large, cough are a symbol of his fertility.
