Thanks! I really enjoyed doing this. X3 Coloring it will be awesome.
The Proof of Living by @Lucky_Ladybug66 (Daisy Hunt)
I am so proud of this piece. The finished, colorized version will be posted to 31_days on Livejournal on the 9th. I had the idea before, but the prompt for that day made it all come together.
I've started a fic timeline where Thief King Bakura is separated from Zorc at the end of the Ceremonial Battle, survives (barely), and ends up at Bakura's place. Shadi ends up giving him the Infinity Ring, which grants him a physical form, because he's going to be needed in some unspecified future battle. Bakura agrees to let him stay there, and as time goes on, they somehow grow close ... though Thief King Bakura has to admit to himself that he was fond of the boy even while merged with a part of Zorc's spirit.
Basic premise for the picture is that Thief King Bakura is still haunted by his past and his millennia-old hatred, represented by Zorc and the swirling ghosts of Kul Elna. But he's gripping desperately at Bakura, symbolizing his newfound desire to move forward.
This is the first time I've ever drawn Thief King Bakura. In the past, when I'd draw "him", I drew Yami B with tanned skin, basically. (That was before the Pharaoh's Memory arc appeared.) I am extremely pleased with him. X3 I had my Cloud and Kadaj figures pose for me so I could get all the arms right.

I'm so absent-minded it's not even funny. >_<
...but I really like this one! The position and expressions are really wonderful, and I especially like the way Thief King's clutching Bakura's shirt...you can really feel the anxiety in the picture.
Are you going to put faces on the spirits?...I don't know if you'd be interested, but you can do a really neat misty "glow" effect in PSP with either the eraser or a pale airbrush set to a really low opacity. It might look really neat on the spirits, if you were interested.
I ought to point out that Thief King's kilt should probably be sliding up his background-leg a little, because of the way the fabric would pull in that position...but I think you've probably already got this one colored. ^^;;;;;; I really like the positioning of Bakura's legs, though!
I also really like Thief King's hair. It's just the right combination of scruff and floof. ...and I still really like the positioning of all the hands. Like, a lot. They're nice hands.
Thanks! This is definitely one of my favorite pieces. X3
Oooh, that effect sounds really cool. X3 I'll have to tinker with it. And as for faces, I was debating whether it'd look creepier to have the ghosts faceless or not. XD
(Yeah, already inked, colored, and now posted, but I'll keep it in mind for the next one! ^^)
I'm so proud of these hands....
Oh wow, this came out really good! X3 I love how the characters look - all the detail and their expressions! And it's such and intense scene!
I think this has got to be one of my favorites so far. ^^
