what it means to stand against evil voice acting session by @XxTheCreativeKitsunexX (XxTheCreativeKitsunexX)

Continuing on with voice acting on to Celtic fantasy.

In this particular session I am envisioning a warrior who has lost his way cause he lost someone he loved to the sword of a tyrant and how one old soldier speaks of what it means to overcome evil and how many a warrior before has lost their way. I injected a ton of emotion into the character voice to give it that block buster fantasy movie feel so as to make the old soldier stand out.

I am voicing the old soldier and decided to give him an accent and a gruff voice to accompany his words of wisdom.

Welp, time to reinstall AoE2! (HD, not DE. :B )

What's your setup? The voice can be breathy, especially when you're not-shouting to keep from blowing the speakers, but as long as you're not projecting straight into the mic you should be able to speak as loud as you need.

@Thorvald: I seem to be the catalyst for you going back and installing old game with my works.  My set up is modest at best with a CAD Audio Microphone sans pop filter (I really ought to stop being lazy and buy one along with a stand for my microphone)  As I don't have a dedicated soundroom just yet all recordings are raw.  I also do my recordings low as to not make my landlord or neighbors think I am going balmy.  I use my iphone for doing voice sessions as well if I am feeling well and inspire by something I will say some lines or make up a new character on the fly.

@XxTheCreativeKitsunexX: Aye, thin walls are always a hazard. :p A tip I learned is to set the mic to the side of your face to cut out plosives and sibilance—I have a pretty high-end model (tragically underused) and I've never needed a filtre.

@Thorvald: Judging from your sense of humor I can see that XD jking,  I will try that at some point but the idea of voice acting is be as clear as possible.  Many actors use pop filters so no matter how close they get to the mic it does now sound like the defeaning sound is declaring war on your ears.
