@Thorvald: I've always have an affinity for Japan since I was a teenager, and I use Fc2 because why not, and I don't want to use Neocities tbh.
I also use VK as a replacement for Facebook, and because I also want to broaden my networking, just in case.
@N0-11: Aye, if the dAcline and Fall and my journey to S7 taught me anything, it's to always have redundancies. :p Reading up on VK's corporate history, I'm impressed that Durov tried to protect the userbase from government interference until his ouster; I wasn't even aware he built Telegram, but I can see the motivation.
I don't know if it's been asked by anyone down the line, but I'm curious: My impression is that your first language is English, but by your personal site you evidently have an affinity for Japan, while VKontakte is a site I exclusively associate with native Eastern Europeans or expats keeping ties. Is this a case of broad networking, or do you have Eurasian connections?
