@Thorvald: What, you haven't noticed them trying to screw up your party tricks?
Asif Caliphate Emblem by @fragmented_imagination (B Sanders)
Based on the calligraphy medallions of Rashidun Caliphate found in the Hagia Sofia in Istanbul, Turkey.
This is the emblem of Aṣif ibn Baraysh, the Lesser Caliph of the Djinn reigning the Djinn Muslims from 1954 to 2008. The title of "lesser caliph" originated as a mirror of the caliphs of the Human world. The lesser caliphs were intended to receive the decisions of the caliphs and interpret those decisions before spreading them to the Muslims of the Djinn world. However, with the collapse of the Ottoman Empire and the abolition of the Ottoman Caliphate, the Djinn were unsure how they were supposed to continue to function since the caliphate was their only source of religious guidance. They eventually decided to raise the role of the Lesser Caliph to the role of religious leader of the whole Djinn Muslim population until a stable caliphate could form in the Human world once again. Aṣif ibn Baraysh is the first of the Lesser Caliphs to lead the Djinn Muslims without guidance from the Human world. He would eventually pass the title to Hakim ibn Jabr with his passing in 2008.
I used my calligraphy pens from my previous works to draw a base image. Then, I went through and traced and modified the characters to form clean, sharp shapes that would be easier to modify. The seal features "Places of worship are for Allah", a fragment of the Qur'an book of Al-Jinn. This was meant to give the title of "lesser caliph" a humble role in the overall Muslim community, especially since the Djinn need to rely on Humans for religious guidance much of the time.
Use of the Qur'an is considered part of the Public Domain.

@fragmented_imagination: I just put it down to everyone being drunk. Deliberate sabotage as a means of quiet resistance starts to make a lot more sense. :x
Wait, you mean to tell me the spirits I've been keeping in oil lamps and abusing for cheap party tricks are actually fully-rational and autonomous beings recognized as moral equals to humanity??
But yeah, I can't read Arabic but the script is so a e s t h e t i c .
