I am merely a simple pawn wanting to pay some kind of homage to this site and show my gratitude for its existance and the community evolving here in the form of an art piece to celebrate the new update. You could say "fanart" I guess.
It is part of a larger care-package that I slowly working out. Things just need to be at the right time and place.
Oh yeah - vector import, spline creation, bezier point rounding adaptation and extrusion h4xX0r1n6. Something a bit less complicated whilst working with the monster + island scene.

I always liked the "underdog doing seriously impressive things" sort of narrative. A bit of "in yo face" and at the same time constructive for others to see what is possible to reach. I am not talking about myself, but the power of the narrative. For example, I have witnessed newly minted artists being ridiculed and told them to hang in there just to see what a little bit of encouragement and support can do. Some of the transformations were truly outstanding. I think we need to show exactly how awesome Side 7 is and the kind of creativity that it displays. Some how, some time.

@ragukokarn: Side 7 is old enough (and, bittersweetly, forgotten enough) that I've found work by career professionals from back when they were kids. I understand the reflex to purge the early years, but there's no better antidote to the myth of "born gifted" than having the full timeline laid out. Someone I follow on dA did a retrospective of his five years in painting, and the evolution just within the first year blew my mind.

And you are right! I'm so thankful a space like Side 7 exists. I love how the community is so kind and supportive as well as how quiet it is, u like places like DeviantArt or Cara, the latter not being a bad site, but certainly way to crowded for my liking, haha.
Also there's a lot of talented people over here! ♥️

Haven't been on dA in a long time (well, technically I am still there to use the sta.sh hosting hehe) and never tried Cara. I think smaller sites like this one is the way to go. Very few trolling attempts, not that many spam incidents and generally a small town feel :)
There are absolutely a lot of talent and skill on side 7! It is a shame quite a few artists seem to vanish into thin air after a while. But we're here, so let's make the best art platform we can!
