apparently, not all installments of Digimon franchise are very similar to Pokemon, at least some of Digimon installments are more like other media names than Pokemon, here's Digimon medium that more like other franchises than Pokemon: 1. Digimon World 1(PS1 RPG) is more like Monster Rancher than any Pokemon stuff 2. Digimon tamers more dark and mature, no other Pokemon mediums are close to this Digimon season in terms of maturity and grimdarkness 3. Digimon Frontier are more like Super Sentai/Power Rangers (and in some case DC/Marvel Superheroes) 4. and so on
and here's the moments where Digimon media being Pokemon-like(more so than even other Digimon stuff): - Digimon Adventure 02 with Current Seasons of Pokemon Anime: most obvious one is Arukenimon and Mummymon being Jessie and James of Digimon as well at least some flaws(that's comparable to ones found in Current Seasons of Pokemon anime) that renders Digimon anime known for using different universes for different seasons - Digimon Savers and Pokemon Special Manga: both teaches that personal physical combat are sometimes unavoidable even when you have superpowered pets in your side - Digimon Xros Wars and Pokemon in General
Digimon belongs to Toei Animation and Bandai Pokemon belongs to Nintendo and Gamefreak
