Well, the reason behind the hands is that ne's curled more. the other is lying flat across her hips n stuffs. and waking up is always horrible. the bed is sooo warm!

When you're tired, you're tired, and waking up for school doesn't seem to be in her agenda. And yes, that is a sock on her foot.
Waking up is one horrible experience no? I like her hands, although one is larger than the other...hands are such a pain. The pillow is really cute looking. Her hair would probably be more likely to "halo" out on both sides of her because she is laying on her back. The pose is nicely rendered too; simple but pulled of very nicely.
A technique for coloring with markers that I find can help with the shading and highlighting is the use of colored pencils in conjuction with the markers or layering. White or some other light color (just your preference) can be used for the highlights with a light layer in the area. For shadows you can use a darker colored pencil than the base marker color, but try not to use black. For shadows you can layer the marker (prismacolor works great). Personally I like using both in the same piece but it is all a matter of preference. Hope this will help and I am looking foward to your next piece.
