Friendly Fire [Bonus Comic]
Friendly Fire [Bonus Comic] by @Thorvald (El Thorvaldo)

A Side 7 exclusive! Incomplete draft of my intended entrance into DYOS IX, this depicts the "accidental" shooting down of taillesskangaru en route to the Arctic, pursuing a plot-relevant suggestion by Splime since lost to the purge. The plot sped past it, however, bringing the Scrolls of Cohesiveness (and inevitable firefight) to the North Pole, and I ended up scrambling to find a replacement hook.

This was essentially finished, only missing the captions. I'd considered filling them in, but the original text was done in MS Paint and every version of Windows seems to change how things alias; GIMP can't quite match it and I'm a pedant for accuracy. As memory serves, the planned dialogue went thus:

"OK, we've got his attention. Now signal him to land."

ROCKET: "Excuse me, do you have a moment to talk about our Lord and Saviour—"

[BOOM]

"Why must I work with amateurs?"
"Sorry, sir."

"[something about dispatching a recovery squad]"

You'll notice a missile cutout just below the second-last panel: I ended up having to cut-and-paste the "missed" shot to make it look clearer than the results of doing it "live". I also goofed on the fourth-last, and you can see the squad UI in the bottom of the frame.

"North of 60" is a reference to the eponymous Canadian TV show.
