Interesting character design : ). It looks a bit like a realistic manefestation of a Pacific Northwest native american totem.
I think because of the eye and mouth shapes.

The orange/blue-violet color scheme works very well. The stylized fire as well...I like how it looks like it's reaching upward with the character's extended hand.

Beautiful work :)
