COLORED PENCILS??? Excuse me while I die of amazement. ::dies:: When I first saw this, I was convinced it was a photo manipulation, until I read your description. I am really amazed at this--I can't believe anyone could use colored pencils to color so realistically! I love the design, faeries are the best. You really did an awesome job with the lighting--her wings absolutely seem to glow. Although--and I think this is because of the scanning--the contrast seems a little low. If you have Adobe Photoshop or another program, I think upping the contrast a little will bring out some of the colors better. ::shakes head in amazement:: Honestly, this is really, really great. Are you a professional?
Well I only use Prismacolor pencils because they go on thick and creamy. I use many colors for skin tones, and I try to kep my pencils as sharp as I can so that the lines are even, and keep a smooth surface. If they get too waxy I use a little tissue paper and lightly rub it away until it is not so waxy. I only use a white gel pen on the brightest highlights.
nice hyacinths!
