mark was made bernadette's guardian when he was only 16 due to his father's reputation(partly) and also his own skill. he is often jokingly called her angel because of his wings, which he hates. mark has always played the role of the mature, serious type ever since he was 12. his father died and he needed to fill in the spaces left by him in order to help his mother through it. as a result, he's not one for silliness and he can be a complete arse. secretly he's the biggest flirt around, but he doesn't act this way in front of bernadette as he feels very unprofessional. they eventually wed, and he is truly happy for the rest of his days.
