Scythe Character Reference
Scythe's not easily understood. Doesn't really want to be understood either. He'd much rather just hide in shadows than come out and speak to someone. He was born a literal bastard child, raised by his mother. Don't spend any time feeling sorry for her, though..... she's not the.... best, person in the world. understatement He was raised for a singular purpose- to get back at a select few people who she had grudges against. He bears the name of his blade- and for a long period in his life, he played the assassin, did as he was told, never caring one way or the other- before a run-in with the gods and a disastrous ending to a love affair opened his eyes to the hypocrisy, lies, and deception he'd been living on. He broke away from his mother, from the world in general, hiding under physical, psychological, and emotional cloaks of darkness in the shadows of the only world that'd ever brought him peace- the forest. And thus he tries to loose himself, forget a loss from years ago....
The best summary I've ever heard of him, however, comes in the form of a poem, by my good friend Dania...
Thine scythe is sharp, but sharper still, is the mind behind the mask.
Thine strokes are quick, but quicker still, is the deft hands, at their task.
Thine wounds are deep, but deeper still, are the scars upon the soul.
Thine manner is dark, but darker still, is the eyes that swallow whole.
Thine walls are strong, but stronger still, is the human heart.
Love is Mighty, but mightier still, is two lovers never to part.
