Merkut is a middle-aged kobold german mercenary in the 16th century. A veteran of the italian wars but had nothing to show for his service except for a body riddled with scars and a bitter hatred of switzers and franks.

His primary armament is a halberd, but he is trained in various maces, swords, and daggers, as well as guns and crossbows.

Blessed (or cursed) with a wanderlust, he explored much of the Empire in his youth.

He pridefully wears the colors of his native province, Saxony.

He is very fashion-conscious and owns many outfits and hats.

He idolizes knights and the noble class, and dreams of donning a full suit of armor.

Merkut is close friends with Smaida, they travel together and enjoy eachother's company despite a language barrier.

Merkut's not very close with his parents as he went against their wishes and joined a mercenary company in his early adulthood. He's in good standing with his siblings but hasn't seen them in a decade. His only non-familial friend is Smaida.
