THIS SHEET IS A WORK IN PROGRESS

Shouya is the fourth Kazekage's ultimate weapon, the jinchuuriki of the one-tailed beast Shukaku.

Specialty jutsu: can infuse fire chakra with Shukaku's sand, creating glass style techniques which can range from glass manipulation to glass weapon summoning. Glass has an added benefit of shattering inside an enemy making it harder to remove.

Background: Shouya was born from a clan outside of Suna. His clan was chosen by the fourth Kazekage to have a child that he would adopt, and in exchange he would pay the village a large sum of money. Due to Gaara's inability to control Shukaku, Rasa deemed him a failure and sought to replace him. Understanding that his bloodline is not tailed-beast compatible given 3 failed attempts to create a jinchuuriki, he decided to create a new host from outside the family. Shouya was born to replace his big brother who he would grow to love and get close to, despite his violent nature and insistance on solitude.

Shouya's original clan "Miho" comes from a small village on the outskirts of the desert in the land of wind. While its a non-shinobi village, its not uncommon for children to leave to receive ninja training in other lands. The Miho clan are peaceful and mastered fire style techniques for the sake of art. Their specialty: glass blowing. Shouya grew up, able to fuse his fire chakra with sand to unintentionally live up to his clan's legacy. The Miho clan's talent for fire style attracted Rasa as a potential clan to adopt from. He had formed a checklist of clans bearing qualities he desired for an ultimate weapon. The Miho clan, head of the financially struggling village happily accepted Rasa's offer. To give him a son in exchange for funding. Although Shouya's parents are aware they must give up their son to the Kazekage, they do it for the betterment of both of their villages. Rasa allows the couple to name him, and they chose "Shouya" named after his uncle, who left the village to become a shinobi, and died in battle. Unaware if Shouya will be raised with the knowledge of his original family, they hope one day to receive a visit from the boy they named.

Shouya is raised by his older siblings for the most part, but receives special training from his father Rasa, and Rasa's assistant, Shun.

Trivia:

Shouya was not born with dark rings around his eyes, but they form later as his body adjusts to being the host of Shukaku.

He carries a large glass bottle on his back to carry sand in. It's in a protective case that keeps it from melting or shattering.

Shouya knew he was going to become the tailed beast host, but did not understand that removing Shukaku from Gaara would kill him. He refuses to believe that Gaara is truly dead long into his teens. His denial is concerning to his other siblings.

Shouya's chakra nature is fire, but masters earth and wind at a young age under the training of his father.

Shouya is named after his uncle in the story, but is actually named after Shoya Ishida from A Silent Voice. There was no reason for naming him after this character other than it just sounded right.
